Adel E. Berbari received his MD from the American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon. He had his residency training in Internal Medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and fellowship training in Nephrology/Hypertension at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is presently Professor of Medicine (Nephrology/Hypertension) and Physiology at the American University School of Medicine and AUBMC. His scientific activities include full time clinical practice in Nephrology and Hypertension, teaching nephrology and vascular physiology to medical students.
He has published 90 articles in peer reviewed journals, 57 abstracts, and 5 books: 1) Cardiorenal syndrome mechanisms, risk and treatment; 2) Special issues in hypertension; 3) Arterial disorders: definition, clinical manifestations, mechanisms and therapeutics;
4) Clinical blood pressure measurement manual; 5) Disorders of blood pressure regulation: phenotypes, mechanisms, therapeutic options.
He is a member of several national, regional and international societies. He received several awards from national and international scientific/medical organizations.
He is editor-in-chief of Lebanese Medical Journal.
